VOICE MATTERS: a workshop with Elissa Maas Weinzimmer, April 27 2-4pm, $37

Our voices matter. We use them for liberation when we advocate for ourselves and others. We use them for freedom when we expressourselves fully. We use them for joy when we sing. We use them for communion when we harmonize with others. Vocal health, confidence, and authenticity is a serious matter. When we're vocally blocked, we're disconnected from our identity and our creativity. When we're vocally free, we can lift our own spirit, and uplift each other.

In this two-hour workshop, we will be exploring our spoken and singing voices on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. We will cover:

  • Physiologically-based exercises for increasing vocal power (breath support and resonance training) and releasing laryngeal tension (self- massage and movement)

  • A framework for accessing your feelings, so you can speak (and sing) your truth

  • Chanting practices and songs dedicated to the liberation of our human spirit
